What products does Grace Harbor Farms offer?
Grace Harbor Farms offers a variety of natural dairy products, including cream-top whole milk, yogurt, kefir, cultured buttermilk, and goat milk. We also have goat milk-based skincare products like soaps, lotions, and our best-selling Extra Strength MSM Cream. All our dairy products are minimally processed, made from high-quality milk from Guernsey and Jersey cows and goats, with no artificial flavors, thickeners, or additives.
Where can I purchase Grace Harbor Farms products?
Our products are available at our farm store in Custer, WA, open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Saturday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. You can also find our dairy products in over 100 stores across Western Washington, including Community Food Co-op, Haggen, Whole Foods, PCC, Fred Meyer, QFC, Safeway, and Albertsons. For the nearest retailer, check our website or email us at info@graceharborfarms.com. We also offer online ordering for select products on our website, www.graceharborfarms.com, and skincare products at www.graceharborstore.com.
What makes your milk different?
Our milk comes from Guernsey and Jersey cows, which produce A2 protein milk—often easier to digest, even for some people with lactose intolerance. We use vat pasteurization and do not homogenize or separate the cream, ensuring a rich, full-fat, cream-top milk with an average butterfat content of 4.5%. This process preserves the milk's natural flavor and nutritional value, without adding synthetic vitamins or processing.
Are your products organic?
While we are not yet USDA Certified Organic, we follow organic-style farming practices. Our cows are 100% grass-fed, never treated with antibiotics or hormones, and have year-round access to fresh pasture (weather permitting). We prioritize sustainable farming practices that support both the animals’ well-being and the environment.
What are the benefits of your Extra Strength MSM Cream?
Our Extra Strength MSM Cream is designed to relieve pain and nourish the skin. It contains MSM (methylsulfonylmethane), a natural anti-inflammatory, and essential oils known for their healing properties. The cream is popular among individuals with muscle and joint pain from repetitive activities. It absorbs quickly, leaves no residue, and is safe for sensitive skin—though it should be kept away from the eyes.

How do you ensure the well-being of your animals?

Dairy FAQ
What’s the difference between homogenized and non-homogenized milk?
- Homogenized Milk: The milk is mechanically processed to break down fat globules, preventing cream from separating and creating a uniform texture.
- Non-Homogenized Milk: The cream naturally separates and rises to the top. Our milk is non-homogenized, so you can shake or stir the cream back in for a richer texture. Grace Harbor Farms' cream-top milk contains 4.5% butterfat, giving it a full, creamy taste.
Why is non-homogenized milk better?
Non-homogenized milk, like our cream-top milk, retains its natural fat content, providing a richer flavor and more nutritional benefits, including fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K. It’s also easier to digest for some individuals due to its larger fat globules and A2 protein.
What do you feed your animals?
Our cows are primarily grass-fed, with supplemental grain and a vitamin/mineral mix sourced from a local co-op. We ensure there are no GMO ingredients, corn, soy, or beets in their feed.
What is A2 milk, and why is it important?
A2 milk is produced by cows that carry only the A2 beta-casein protein, which may be easier to digest for people who have difficulty with A1 protein. Grace Harbor Farms exclusively breeds A2 cows to provide milk that is gentler on the stomach and more digestible.
Do you practice humane animal husbandry?
Yes, we prioritize the well-being of our cows by ensuring they have access to pasture and are treated with care. We believe that happy, relaxed cows produce better milk, with higher cream content.
What breeds are your cows?
Our cows are primarily Jersey and Guernsey, both of which are known for producing high-quality A2 milk with rich flavor and a creamy texture.
Why don’t you make Greek yogurt or ice cream?
We currently don’t have the equipment necessary to produce Greek yogurt or ice cream. Our focus is on maintaining the natural quality of our cream-top dairy products.
How do you reduce carbon emissions?
Through sustainable farming practices, including intensive grazing, we help sequester more carbon than is emitted by our cows. Our land management efforts create a net decrease in carbon emissions—every quart of milk produced helps remove 6.92 pounds of carbon.
What are the benefits of cream-top yogurt?
Cream-top yogurt offers a rich flavor, higher nutritional content, and digestive benefits. The natural fat in the cream provides fat-soluble vitamins, and the live probiotics support gut health and immunity. It also contains no additives, making it a pure, natural choice.
What are the benefits of kefir?
Kefir is packed with probiotics that support digestive health and immune function. It’s also easier to digest for those with lactose intolerance and contains anti-inflammatory properties that may benefit various health conditions. Grace Harbor Farms’ kefir, made from A2 milk, adds extra digestive benefits.
What are microgreens, and what are their benefits?
Microgreens are young vegetable seedlings that are nutrient-dense, offering up to 40 times more vitamins and minerals than mature vegetables. They are rich in antioxidants, support heart health, help regulate blood sugar, and improve skin, hair, and mental health. They are also easy to grow and support sustainable practices.
